Bengal electoral roll: 91% of names reinstated after 82,782 appeals processed
During the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in West Bengal, appellate tribunals have successfully handled 82,782 appeals. Out of these, 75,443 names—representing 91% of the total—have been added back to the voter list. Conversely, 7,339 names, or 8.86%, were removed from the rolls following these appeals. In total, 38,10,620 appeals were submitted.
