Batwara 1947 director refutes Shabana Azmi's take on Sunny Deol's character
Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi has dismissed Shabana Azmi's suggestion that the film 'Batwara 1947' struggled at the box office because Sunny Deol portrayed a Muslim character. Rajkumar stated, "I don't find any logic in that. Amitabh Bachchan played a Muslim protagonist in 'Coolie'." He further questioned, "Have we reached a stage where we are unable to embrace a hero belonging to another community?"
