Bank unions schedule four-day September strike, threaten indefinite walkout
The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), which speaks for more than 90% of the country's banking staff, has declared strikes for September 11 and September 28-30. Their key demands involve shifting to a five-day work week and revising the PLI scheme. While these actions are planned, online banking services should continue to function. The unions have further cautioned that if these issues are not settled, they will begin an indefinite strike starting October 26.
