Bank deposits see ₹7 lakh crore spike in two weeks: Report
According to SBI Research, deposits in the banking sector climbed by nearly ₹7 lakh crore in the two-week period ending June 30, 2026. This marks the third-largest increase for a fortnight in 29 years. Roughly ₹3.5 to ₹4 lakh crore of this growth was linked to deposit mobilization efforts at the end of the quarter. The rest of the rise is believed to be due to increased capital inflows via ECB, FCNR(B), and OFCB channels.
