Assam cancer survival rate hits 62%, says CM Himanta Sarma

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the cancer survival rate in Assam has climbed to 62%, surpassing the national average. He attributed this success to the state's three-level cancer care initiative, which prioritizes early screening, prompt diagnosis, and effective treatment. Currently, Assam operates 12 cancer care facilities and aims to screen 1.24 million individuals to boost early detection and enhance patient recovery.
