Assam aims to plant 10 million trees by Independence Day
Assam has kicked off a massive tree-planting campaign across the state, aiming to put one crore saplings in the ground before Independence Day. The initiative will involve approximately 10 lakh students. To ensure the trees survive, the government has arranged for job card holders to help the students look after the saplings. Students who track their plants using geo-tagging will be awarded 'Briksha Bandhu' certificates.
