Assam adds protected forest area equal to Jaipur's size

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that Assam has increased its protected forest region by 403.62 square kilometres. He noted that this expansion is roughly the size of Jaipur and marks the largest increase of its kind for a protected forest network in India. Furthermore, he mentioned that these new additions have contributed to creating a more connected conservation landscape for Kaziranga.
