Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has indicated that Apple might grow its production operations in India to include items other than iPhones, suggesting a shift toward a wider product range. Since 2017, Apple has been assembling and exporting iPhones within the country. Additionally, Vaishnaw noted that the new ₹62,500-crore Mobile Phone Manufacturing Scheme could lead to the rise of three new Indian smartphone brands in the next 10 to 14 months.
