After facing financial setbacks in the saree weaving business due to the COVID-19 pandemic, KV Ramana Reddy shifted his focus to growing exotic fruits. His farm is located in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, a region known for being one of the driest in the country with temperatures reaching as high as 48 degrees Celsius. Despite the harsh climate, he successfully grows longan, apples, dates, and dragon fruit. Last year, his harvest brought in ₹1.3 crore from dates and ₹70 lakh from dragon fruit, resulting in a total annual income of ₹2 crore.
