Amazon penalized with ₹15,000 fine for failing to issue full refund
A consumer commission in Andhra Pradesh has directed Amazon to return ₹5,199 to a customer for faulty earbuds, alongside an extra ₹10,000 as compensation. Although Amazon processed the refund in December 2025, the company later claimed in January 2026 that only ₹4,689.52 was authorized. The commission ruled that Amazon is not permitted to retain refund money once it has been collected from the manufacturer.
