Amarnath cave's ice Shivling nearly disappears shortly after Yatra begins
The sacred ice Shivling at the Amarnath cave, a site that attracts hundreds of thousands of pilgrims annually, has nearly vanished just days after the pilgrimage commenced on July 3. Images showing the current state of the cave have appeared on the internet. Addressing the situation, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah remarked, "None of us can decide for how long Shivling will remain...It's created by the deity himself."
