Alphabet drove more than 33% of India's 2025 FDI, UN reports

According to the UN Trade and Development, India saw its foreign direct investment (FDI) climb by 44% to reach $39 billion in 2025. Google's parent company, Alphabet, was responsible for more than a third of this total. Alphabet put $14.5 billion into a data center project, while the Polish firm Hynfra followed with a $4 billion investment in green hydrogen. Throughout 2025, India secured 8% of the world's total investments directed toward AI technology and infrastructure.
