Allahabad HC orders CBI inquiry into police encounter where rape suspect was shot
The Allahabad High Court has directed the CBI to investigate a police encounter from May of last year, during which a rape suspect sustained gunshot wounds to both legs. The court observed that the police managed to fire a single shot that struck the suspect in or below the knee. It further noted that not a single pellet grazed the uniforms of the officers involved, leaving the entire police team completely unharmed.
