Chinese retail giant Alibaba has reached a $600 million settlement to resolve a US investigation concerning claims that it did not stop the sale of illicit drugs on its website. According to the Justice Department, Alibaba acknowledged as part of the deal that it did not block roughly 80,000 prohibited transactions occurring from 2016 to 2024. These sales amounted to more than $200 million.
