Airtel scraps 4 prepaid packs; base ₹299 plan gets 16% price hike
Bharti Airtel has pulled four of its prepaid recharge options from the market, specifically those priced at ₹299, ₹579, ₹619, and ₹649. Consequently, the entry-level cost for the ₹299 plan has risen by 16%, now set at ₹349. This move is aligned with Airtel's strategy to improve its tariff structure and boost the average revenue generated per user. While the basic ₹199 plan is still available at its current price, the decision has raised questions about whether competitors like Jio and Vi might implement similar price adjustments.
