Air India hikes pilot salaries by up to 15% to reduce turnover

According to a report by The Economic Times, Air India and Air India Express, both under the Tata Group, have increased pilot wages by 9% to 15%. This move aims to reduce staff resignations as the airline faces stiff competition for talent from IndiGo and carriers in the Middle East. Under the new structure, senior pilots who log approximately 40 hours of flight time monthly are set to receive a salary of nearly ₹7 lakh. Industry experts suggest that these pay raises may lead other Indian airlines to implement similar salary adjustments.
