Air India flight experienced sudden altitude shifts with pilot under influence of marijuana

A preliminary report from the AAIB revealed that an Air India flight from Phuket to Delhi, operated by a pilot who later tested positive for cannabis, experienced an "altitude upset." The aircraft climbed 372 feet and then dropped 292 feet from its cruising altitude of 36,000 feet in just nine seconds. The incident resulted in injuries to both passengers and crew, and the aircraft sustained physical damage.
