Abhinandan Varthaman, a former Group Captain in the Indian Air Force and recipient of the Vir Chakra, has started a new role with a private airline. He will now complete the necessary training and official protocols before he begins flying commercial planes. In 2019, following the Pulwama terror strike on a CRPF convoy, he famously shot down a US-manufactured F-16 jet belonging to Pakistan during a dogfight.
