92 villages in Chhattisgarh celebrate Independence Day with first-ever flag hoisting
On August 15, marking the 80th Independence Day, 92 villages across Chhattisgarh's Bastar region raised the national flag for the first time since the country gained independence. These locations consist of 50 villages in Sukma, 33 in Bijapur, and nine in Narayanpur, all of which were previously known as Maoist-dominated areas. This act of hoisting the Tricolour comes after the conclusion of the armed Maoist rebellion, representing a major move toward returning to normal life.
