Yash Vir Singh to step in for Neeraj Chopra at Asian Games
The Athletics Federation of India has confirmed that Commonwealth Games bronze winner Yash Vir Singh will take the place of the injured Neeraj Chopra in the men's javelin team for the 2026 Asian Games. Chopra, who has won two Olympic medals, decided to cut his season short following an ankle ligament injury sustained during practice. Yash Vir, who recorded a career-best throw of 85.41m to secure bronze at the 2026 CWG, is set to compete alongside Rohit Yadav in Japan.
