WHO: Ebola outbreak can be contained within three months
Thierno Balde, the Incident Manager for the WHO regarding the Congo Ebola crisis, stated that it is "possible" to get the spread under control over the coming three months. He noted that success is achievable provided the required resources are available. The virus has claimed more than 2,325 lives, and between 70% and 80% of recent infections have no identified connection to previously confirmed patients.
