West Bengal liquor stores and bars to close for Maha Ashtami
West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has declared that all bars and liquor outlets across the state will stay closed on Maha Ashtami, which falls during the Durga Puja festival. Additionally, the use of DJ music is prohibited during all processions and celebrations. The Chief Minister further stated that Puja committees will receive a grant of ₹1 lakh, along with complimentary electricity and an exemption from fire safety licence fees.
