West Bengal launches free HPV shots for girls in red-light districts
The West Bengal government is rolling out free cervical cancer vaccinations for girls between 14 and 15 years old residing in red-light zones, beginning with the Sonagachi area in Kolkata. This program is being spearheaded by the Health Department alongside the Durbar Mahila Samanwaya Committee. The goal is to increase vaccination rates and boost protection against cervical cancer for these at-risk teenagers.
