West Bengal leader Suvendu Adhikari stated that 26-year-old Indrajit Mondal, who died following baseless allegations of raping and murdering a young girl, was not lynched but rather "murdered." He further remarked, "There's certainly instigation by politically rejected people. Communal radical forces may also be involved." Adhikari provided ₹25 lakh to the victim's parents and handed an appointment letter for a civic volunteer position to his brother.
