Washington wildfires burn 600 buildings and trigger mass evacuations
Blazes in eastern Washington have razed 600 homes, commercial properties, and various other buildings, leading to the evacuation of nearly 60,000 residents. The fires near Spokane, the state's second-biggest city, consumed approximately 8.2 square miles (21 square kilometres) throughout the weekend. Across the entire state, the total area scorched by wildfires has reached roughly 390 square miles (1,000 square kilometres).
