Venezuela earthquake fatalities climb to 3,889; 1,142 aftershocks reported

The number of lives lost in the 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes that hit Venezuela on June 24 has reached 3,889, with 16,740 individuals reported injured. At least 17,907 people have lost their homes, and 16,891 are currently residing in 89 makeshift camps. Since the initial tremors, authorities have documented 1,142 aftershocks.
