US Reportedly Set to Shut Down Five Diplomatic Missions
According to reports, the United States is preparing to close five of its diplomatic outposts. These include consulates in Nagoya, Japan; Medan, Indonesia; and Winnipeg, Canada, alongside an embassy in Barbados and a branch office in Cameroon. Officials have indicated that several smaller international missions are no longer financially viable. This comes as China surpassed the US in total diplomatic presence by 2024, maintaining 274 missions globally against the US count of 271.
