US ICE plans $2 million acquisition of robotic dogs
The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is planning to allocate up to $2 million for robotic dogs from Boston Dynamics to boost officer safety during enforcement activities. These four-legged Spot robots come fitted with sensors and cameras, enabling them to cross rough ground and identify possible dangers, such as gas and vibrations. This technology will assist in evaluating hazardous areas before personnel step inside.
