US government planning to restrict Chinese data center hardware: Report
According to a Reuters report, the Trump administration is working on a policy to prohibit the import of certain Chinese-made data center equipment. The Federal Communications Commission is developing this rule to stop the use of new Chinese optical transceivers, which are essential for sending data through fiber-optic cables within data centers. Authorities intend to release the regulation before the end of the year, at which point it will become enforceable.
