US finalizes $3 billion agreement to increase Patriot and THAAD missile component manufacturing
The Pentagon announced that the United States has entered into a $3 billion contract with Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin to ramp up the manufacturing of components for THAAD and Patriot air defense missiles. This follows a separate $58.6 billion agreement made last week with Lockheed Martin focused on building Patriot interceptor missiles. According to officials, the new deal is set to increase the production capacity for PAC-3 Patriot missiles by three times and THAAD system missiles by four times.
