US auto union slams GM for replacing 1,000 workers with 50 cobots

The United Auto Workers (UAW), the nation's leading automotive union, has expressed strong disapproval of General Motors following the replacement of more than 1,000 employees at a Detroit facility with 50 collaborative robots. James Cotton, President of UAW Local 22, stated, "Our manpower is being taken away from us...We're disgusted that they have cobots in our plants. They're taking away jobs from people."
