UP flood victims report children falling sick after receiving expired cough syrup

Families affected by floods in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, have alleged that their children became unwell after taking cough syrup provided in relief supplies. It was discovered that the medicine had an expiration date of July 2026. A mother of one of the affected boys stated that medical staff acknowledged the syrup was given out by mistake and provided ₹100 to help cover the child's medical expenses.
