UNICEF: 20 million kids across 21 countries hit by online sexual abuse in a year

A report from the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) reveals that roughly 20 million youngsters between the ages of 12 and 17—equating to one out of every five children in 21 nations—suffered sexual exploitation through digital means. Approximately 60% of these incidents took place on social networking sites, including Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, TikTok, and Snapchat. Furthermore, about 14% of the reported cases were linked to online gaming.
