TOEFL testing halted in Iran following US sanctions
Fresh US sanctions against Iran have resulted in the cancellation of TOEFL exams, creating hurdles for Iranian students hoping to pursue education overseas. The Educational Testing Service (ETS), the American body that manages the test, verified that the exams have been paused. While ETS noted that students from Iran are welcome to sit for the exam in nearby nations, the requirement to travel makes this option too expensive for a large number of students.
