TN CM Vijay reveals ₹1,200 crore plan for new Assembly-Secretariat building in Chennai
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay has unveiled a project to build a new Assembly and Secretariat complex in Chennai, with a budget of approximately ₹1,200 crore. According to CM Vijay, the 20-lakh-square-foot facility is designed to bring "all government departments into a modern, accessible, and eco-friendly facility." He further explained that the current Secretariat cannot be enlarged because of the limitations posed by the 17th-century Fort St George.
