The story of Gulzar Singh: The Dalit man who spoke out against Punjab's drug issue
Gulzar Singh, a 46-year-old Toor Banjara resident and father of three, had an eldest son who was allegedly struggling with an addiction to 'chitta'. Deeply concerned about the prevalence of drugs in his village, he confronted Punjab minister Harpal Singh Cheema at a public event. Following this, his relatives claimed that he faced pressure to issue an apology prior to his death by suicide.
