Thai player killed by lightning strike during football game
Sofwan Awae, a 24-year-old footballer from Thailand, passed away after getting struck by lightning while playing in a Golok Cup match at Santiphap Stadium on Tuesday. The winger, who recently joined the third-division team Yala FC, was on the field for SAMCOLTS when the lightning hit the pitch. According to police reports, 12 other individuals, including a player from Malaysia, sustained injuries and were transported to a medical facility for care.
