Tehran metro logs 7 million-plus journeys during Khamenei's funeral
Iranian officials reported that Tehran's subway system handled over 7 million passenger trips throughout Saturday and Sunday, coinciding with the funeral services for the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Mojtaba, the son of Khamenei who has taken over as the country's Supreme Leader, was not present at the ceremony. Khamenei died on February 28 following military strikes conducted by the US and Israel against Iran.
