Tamil Nadu government to withdraw cases against farmers and teachers
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay has declared that legal cases lodged against teachers and farmers for their protests during the former DMK administration will be dropped. He noted that numerous charges were brought against these groups between May 2021 and 2026. Vijay explained that the farmers had faced legal action for demonstrating against various initiatives, such as the Parandur airport proposal and SIPCOT industrial projects.
