Taiwanese 10-year-old creates AI 'nose' to spot drugs at airports
Hsu Ting-wei, a 10-year-old from Taiwan, secured a gold medal at the Silicon Valley International Invention Festival (SVIIF) in California for his invention, the "Novel Artificial Electronic Nose." This technology utilizes AI to identify specific scents. When placed behind X-ray machines at airport security checkpoints, the device could identify pork products that might contain African swine fever, as well as detect narcotics inside bags without the need for manual inspection.
