Swara Bhasker on Padmaavat's Jauhar scene: Does rape mean a woman's life is over?

Swara Bhasker revisited the open letter she penned following the 2018 premiere of 'Padmaavat,' in which she questioned the film's depiction of Jauhar. She asked, "Are we saying rape is end of a woman’s life?" She further commented, "If I were a rape survivor, what is this film telling me? I would feel like a coward that I didn’t commit suicide to save my honour."
