Survey: 59% of new petrol car owners see 10% mileage dip following E20 launch
A LocalCircles study revealed that approximately 59% of individuals who purchased petrol vehicles between 2023 and 2024 experienced a decline in fuel efficiency of more than 10% following the introduction of E20 petrol in early 2025. Furthermore, 25% of respondents noted a drop of over 20%, which is significantly higher than the 3-5% reduction previously estimated by the government. Meanwhile, 66% of those driving petrol vehicles manufactured before 2023 also reported a mileage decrease exceeding 10%.
