Survey: 32% of firms choose AI coding agents over commercial software
According to a Mint report referencing a McKinsey study, businesses are leaning more toward using agentic coding tools to develop their own software rather than buying off-the-shelf products. Approximately 32% of those surveyed indicated that their companies decided against purchasing software because they could create it in-house with these tools. This trend is most prominent in the technology sector at 41%, with healthcare payers and providers following closely at 39%.
