Supreme Court turns down request for mandatory ethanol labeling at petrol pumps
On Monday, the Supreme Court dismissed a petition that asked for mandatory disclosure of ethanol levels in petrol at fuel stations throughout India. The plea had requested that labels showing the precise ethanol percentage be placed on all fuel nozzles and printed on every receipt. The court did, however, grant the petitioner, Narendra Kumar Goswami, the option to take his grievances to the High Court.
