CJI Surya Kant announced that the Supreme Court is set to create a framework regulating how pellet guns are utilized for crowd management in various situations. While addressing petitions linked to the July 20 CJP demonstration, the bench also revealed the formation of a high-level committee to investigate the use of force at protests. The court had previously turned down a request to place an instant ban on the use of pellet guns.
