Supreme Court-appointed team inspects 30 colleges in a year to tackle student suicides
Since May 2025, the National Task Force (NTF) focused on mental health and suicide prevention in higher education institutions has conducted visits to 30 campuses across 10 states. According to the PIB, the Supreme Court established this task force in March 2025 with the goal of addressing the increasing number of student suicides and evaluating mental health issues within the student population. The NTF is required to submit its concluding report by October 2026.
