Sugar import norms updated: Government grants 2-month window for refined sugar sales

To help control climbing domestic prices, the government has updated the guidelines for duty-free imports of raw sugar, capped at 10 lakh tonnes. Importers are now permitted a two-month period starting from the Bill of Entry filing date to refine the raw sugar and distribute it within the country. This replaces the previous deadline, which had been set for October 31.
