Stripe and Advent propose $53 billion acquisition of PayPal
According to a Reuters report, payment processor Stripe and private equity firm Advent have made a joint bid to purchase PayPal at $60.5 per share. This offer values the company at more than $53 billion, which is over ₹5 lakh crore. The two firms first reached out to PayPal regarding the acquisition in April but are still waiting for a reply. If the deal goes through, Stripe and Advent plan to split ownership of the company equally.
