South Western Railway hits record 4.69 MT freight loading in July
South Western Railway reached a new milestone in July by moving 4.69 million tonnes of freight, the highest volume for the month to date. The railway zone brought in a total revenue of ₹793.31 crore, with goods transportation accounting for ₹449.27 crore. Meanwhile, passenger services added ₹303.54 crore to the earnings, serving 1.47 crore travelers across the network. According to SWR, this performance boost is the result of enhanced operational efficiency.
