South Korea hits record 42.5°C heat, emergency alerts issued
South Korea experienced its hottest temperature on record this Sunday, leading officials to release urgent heat warnings. According to the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), the city of Yangsan in the southeast reached a peak of 42.5°C at 1:26 pm local time. The KMA has advised citizens to stay indoors and has declared emergency heatwave alerts for more than 20 areas.
